The Eclipse: What It Means To You?

As you well know, the eclipse is fast approaching on April 8th, 2024! Did you get your special glasses yet? The very definition of an eclipse is the partial or total blocking of light of one celestial object by another. It made me wonder about the similarities of how we sometimes do this to ourselves. Knowingly or unknowingly, we sometimes “block” our light or allow other people or circumstances to seemingly “block” our light.

At the heart of us all, we are Light. We are Infinite Beings. We are creations of God/Source. Yet, we often fail to live our lives like this. We tend to place our focus on problems or challenges of the day, week, or year.

Why is it that our focus is so much on the external world when if we can just keep bringing ourselves back to our internal world, our results would be much more in line with our Light? A shift in our internal consciousness and awareness is how we can get our best results in our external environment.

Back to April 8th – did you know that the Eclipse can help change your life? If you set an intention of what you would like to let go of, and what you would like to move on from, you may find yourself gaining very clear insight about your situation.

“Eclipses are rare because they can only take place when the Sun, the Earth, and the Moon are all aligned. They always happen in groups of two or three. Total solar eclipses are called “ring of fire” because the light of the sun still radiates beyond the total eclipse, and total lunar eclipses are sometimes called blood moons because of the reddish-orange glow the moon takes on during the eclipse.” * This upcoming eclipse is a total solar eclipse. “Solar eclipses are resets in the energy field or archetypal configurations, whereas, lunar eclipses are culminations of emotional cycles that have run their course. Both encourage us to let go of emotions and attachments that are no longer serving us and evolve into something new.”*

Evolving into something new can sometimes feel difficult like we are stretching ourselves in a tight cocoon. But ask yourself, does the butterfly ever look back and think how difficult it was to get out of that cocoon, or does it simply enjoy flying in all its glory and beauty? I choose to believe the latter. So, maybe it’s worth the discomfort and the stretching into that resistance we feel as we grow and evolve into something new.

What if we choose to let go of…

  • Our old ways of being – it may be living in fear instead of love, controlling instead of allowing, worrying & anxiety instead of trust, etc. AND
  • The old habits that don’t serve us – like wasting time, scrolling, overeating, too much sitting and not enough movement, etc.

You get to decide! Just make sure you have something new to move into- your new way of being and your new habits which you will consciously choose each and every moment. Keep them close to you, remind yourself what you’re choosing, and put your willpower and mental faculties to work.

My advice – challenge yourself. Do something you’ve never done before. Try new things to experience new things. If you’re always comfortable, there’s never any growth. It’s the discomfort that will get you being and doing something new. Enjoy the new upcoming energy!
